Crispy Green Banana Chips

Green bananas are unripe bananas that are green in appearance or have some spots. Green bananas have a more astringent taste than ripe yellow bananas, but they still offer some benefits in terms of nutritional value. But green bananas cannot be eaten directly, so how can they be transformed into delicacies?

Have you ever eaten green banana dishes? Green bananas can be used to make curry, fried banana chips, and bread...

Nutritional value of green bananas

  1. Dietary fiber: Contains high dietary fiber, which helps promote intestinal health and maintain the normal functioning of the digestive system. Dietary fiber helps prevent constipation, promotes a feeling of fullness, and helps control blood sugar levels.
  2. starch: The starch content is higher, especially in unripe bananas. This starch breaks down into sugar during digestion, providing a continuous supply of energy.
  3. Vitamins and Minerals: It is rich in vitamin B6, which contributes to the normal functioning of nerve function and metabolic processes; and contains vitamin C, an antioxidant that helps strengthen the immune system. As for minerals, it contains potassium, which helps maintain normal heart function and fluid balance.
  4. Low sugar: Since green bananas are not yet ripe, their sugar content is relatively low. A benefit for people who need to control their sugar intake.

Crispy Green Banana Chips Ingredients:

  • Organically grown green bananas at Datian Farm
  • Salt
  • White pepper
  • Chicken fat or other cooking oil

practice:

  1. Use a planer to peel off the thin green skin on the green banana.
  2. Use a kitchen knife or planer to cut the green banana into thin slices, either round or diagonally. The thinner the banana, the crispier it will be after frying.
  3. After the oil is hot, place the green banana slices one by one into the oil pan, stir and turn them over with chopsticks, fry over medium heat until they turn slightly yellow, then return to the pan over high heat until they turn darker in color. Drain quickly or place on absorbent paper to remove the oil.
  4. Place the fried green banana slices in a pot or other container and sprinkle with scallops and white pepper. Hold the container with both hands and shake the container to mix the seasoning evenly with the green banana slices.
  5. If you like it sweet, you can use powdered sugar instead.
